The B - 29 bomber called "Box Car" dropped a plutonium type of atomic bomb called "Fat Man" to Nagasaki City and burst at 11:02 am on August 9, 1945. Captain Charles W. Sweenney, who was piloting "Box Car", will return to Tinian Island at the same evening.
