広島原子爆弾の炸裂により爆心地により全壊に近いものの日本赤十字病院や逓信病院などの各病院が被爆者の救護をした。しかし、火傷や外傷の手当するも膨大な被爆死した。爆心地から約130mの被爆児が無傷であるも、異様な脱力感、食欲不振、悪心嘔吐から赤痢様の下痢血便でリヤカー上で救護と隔離された。
