Three days after the explosion of the Hiroshima atomic bomb, August 9th 1945, a large number of relievers for the search and rescue of the victims came from the distant areas.

広島原子爆弾が1945年8月6日に炸裂して、3日後の8月9日から被爆者の捜索や救護のために、大勢の救援者らが周辺地域や関西地区などからも駆けつけた。がれきの除去や被爆者の救護から護送、死体の収容から火葬なども担当した。爆心地から260mと近隣の集合地でり、残存したビルである芸備(現広島)銀行本店とその隣の住友(現三井住友)銀行広島支店には救援者らが集合していた。
