Rescued soldiers were evacuated from the neighbor by the tents at the Ota River instead of the second Army Hospital completely destroyed by the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb.

広島原子爆弾の爆心地から北約1.2kmの広島第二陸軍病院は、全焼し倒壊した。広島原爆が炸裂した1945年8月6日の午後に太田川岸にテントで代用して、避難した兵士らを救護した。周辺から近隣の重度の被爆者となった兵士を収容した。収容者は次々に死亡して次々に被爆者が取り替えられた。
