At the temporary first-aid station set up at the Shikozen Primary School, a woman was critically burnt from her back to leg and lying on her face by Nagasaki Atomic Bomb.

長崎原子爆弾の炸裂により、婦人は背中から下腿の後面を重度に熱傷した。長崎医科大学と附属病院は、爆心地から南約3kmにある長崎市興善町に特設された新興善国民学校を市内最大の救護病院として救援した。そこに護送された婦人は8月下旬には仰臥位のまま瀕死状態となった。
